Welcome
Welcome to Alexandra Senior Citizens! We are a friendly and fun senior citizen center, offering a variety of support and activities for our senior community. Our center offers multiple weekly activities such as card games - Euchre and 500, Fun Housie, Exercise classes, crafts and afternoon teas.
Our mission is to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all seniors to socialize and have fun. We support our members during their difficult times, whether it is with meals, transport, or just some company... We truly care for one another.
We currently have over 150 members, and welcome anyone over the age of 50 years young. If you would like to join our fabulous organization, it is only $15.00 per year.

Events
The Kingston Flyer
In April our members were all treated to an exciting trip on the Kingston Flyer - a historical vintage steam train powered by the mighty Ab795 Steam Locomotive. The Kingston Flyer Railway is located in the stunning lake and alpine town of Kingston in the South Island of New Zealand, a scenic 45min drive south from Queenstown.
APRIL 2025
Community Concert
The free Community Concert was held in Alexandra, featuring outstanding performances by the RSA Gentlemen Singers and talented dancers from Marilyn Cassidy’s Dance School. It was a lovely afternoon out, filled with music, dance, and a warm sense of community. Guests enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea, generously sponsored by Stacey and Rebecca from Tall Poppy Real Estate, alongside the impressive spread prepared by the Alexandra Senior Citizens ladies.
The concert drew a great crowd, with attendees including our own members, as well as residents from Teviot Valley, Golden View, Ranui, Castlewood, and the wider local community.
JUNE 2025
Brain Injury Awareness
The Brain Injury Association held a presentation in Alexandra at the Senior Citzens rooms. It was a great turn out and very informative. Sue did an amazing job at presenting to everyone who all learnt a lot. Thank you to Stacey and Rebecca at Tall Poppy for kindly sponsoring this great event.
MARCH 2025
Dansey's Pass
On Monday 16th June, 46 Senior Citizen members enjoyed an outing to Danseys Pass, which included Lunch followed by a visit to the Naseby Skating Rink for afternoon tea before returning back to Alexandra.

We have beautiful facilities located within the Community Centre in Alexandra.
Our rooms are available to hire, including a fully equipped commercial kitchen.
